Hi, I’m Kristie.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the founder of Stone & Stem Psychotherapy. I created Stone & Stem to offer the kind of therapy I believe in— honest, human, grounded, and focused on helping people create meaningful change in their lives.
I came into this work because I know that life is rarely neatly divided into problems and solutions. Life is messy. People are complicated. And meaningful growth does not happen in a straight line. I bring both professional training and real-life perspective into the room, and I believe some of our hardest experiences can become the places where we understand ourselves most deeply.
A Little More About Me
I believe the relationship you have with your therapist matters. You should feel like you’re talking to a real person—not someone sitting across from you with a clipboard and a collection of perfectly timed therapeutic phrases.
I bring my whole, human self into the room. I’m warm, direct, curious, and down-to-earth. I value humor, authenticity, and conversations that actually go somewhere. I’ve lived enough life to know that growth is rarely neat or linear, and I don’t expect you to have everything figured out before you walk through the door.
Outside of therapy, I’m happiest spending time with the people I love, being around animals, tending to plants, and getting outdoors. I value genuine human connection and believe deeply in our capacity to grow and change, even when life gets messy, complicated, or looks nothing like we thought it would.
Meet Stella
Stella is my therapy-dog-in-training and a future member of the Stone & Stem team. She’s still learning the ropes (and occasionally making questionable puppy decisions), but she’s already very good at reminding us to slow down, get outside, and not take everything quite so seriously.
As her training progresses, Stella may eventually join me for in-person sessions for clients who would enjoy having her there. Her participation will always be optional.
Have questions or want to see if we might be a good fit?
Send me a message and I’ll be in touch
